LAHORE, Pakistan – Imad Wasim: He walked out on his wife. He walked out on his daughters. He walked out on a 7-month-old son who has never been held by his father. And now, just two months after the divorce was finalized, Imad Wasim has married the woman at the center of the scandal.
The former Pakistan all-rounder’s announcement of his second marriage to Nyla has ignited a firestorm of outrage, with his ex-wife Sannia Ashfaq publicly branding him a “cheater,” “homewrecker,” and a man who destroyed his family for selfish desires.
Imad Wasim Breaks His Silence. But Did He Say Enough?
In his Monday night Instagram post, Imad attempted to frame his narrative as one of redemption and new beginnings.
“I went through one of the hardest chapters of my life after a marriage that did not work,” he wrote, barely acknowledging the woman he left behind with three children.
He admitted to “regrets” and taking “full responsibility” for his silence while “an innocent person was unfairly judged.” That “innocent person” is his new wife, Nyla the same woman Sannia has repeatedly identified as the “third party” whose desire to marry Imad shattered their home.
“With the grace of Allah and the guidance of my parents, I have now married Nyla,” Imad announced. “Nyla has brought calm, dignity and strength into my life.”
Nowhere in his statement did he address the affair. Nowhere did he apologize to his daughters. Nowhere did he explain why his infant son remains a stranger to him.
The Abandoned Family
Sannia Ashfaq married Imad Wasim in August 2019 in Islamabad. Together, they built a family:
- Two daughters, who now watch their father move on publicly with another woman
- A 7-month-old son, the youngest of three, who has never been held by his father
When Imad Wasim announced their divorce in December 2025, Sannia broke her silence with devastating detail:
“My home has been broken, and my children have been left without their father. I am a mother of three, including a five-month-old infant who has yet to be held by his father.”
That infant is now seven months old. Still unheld. Still waiting.
Imad Wasim, Sannia and Nyla: The Love Triangle That Broke a Family

The most damaging revelation in Sannia’s original statement was the involvement of a “third party” —a woman whose intention to marry Imad, she claimed, became “the final blow to an already struggling union.”
That woman is now his wife.
“What ultimately ended this marriage was the involvement of a third party, whose intention was to marry my husband, became the final blow to an already struggling union,” Sannia wrote in December.
She went further, alleging:
“Following this, I endured emotional torment, mistreatment, abortion and abandonment while pregnant and vulnerable, choosing patience for the sake of my children and the dignity of my home.”
She claims to have “documented evidence” to support every allegation.
The Explosive Response
Imad’s marriage announcement was the final straw. Sannia returned to Instagram with fury:
“Now everyone has seen the proof. This homewrecker never once thought about my kids. The cheater has finally been exposed, and I want justice for my children and for everything we’ve been put through.”
Her words cut deep—not just because of their anger, but because of their truth. Imad’s own statement admits he “stayed longer than I should have” and made “decisions I regret.” He admits his “silence contributed to a situation where an innocent person was unfairly judged.”
That “innocent person” is Nyla. But what about the daughters watching this unfold? What about the son who doesn’t know his father’s face?
The Numbers That Condemn Him
- 55 ODIs and 75 T20Is for Pakistan—a respectable career now overshadowed
- 3 children left behind
- 2 daughters growing up without their father daily
- 1 infant son, 7 months old, never held
- 2 months between divorce and remarriage
- 1 affair that destroyed a family
The Public Reckoning
Social media has turned against the cricketer with unprecedented fury.
“Two months? He didn’t even wait for the ink to dry,” one user commented.
“Imagine being his daughter and reading this. Imagine knowing your father replaced your mother before you could even understand what divorce means.”
“A 7-month-old who has never been held by his father. Read that again. Let it sink in. Then tell me this man deserves peace.”
What He Didn’t Say
Imad’s statement mentioned his children—briefly. “Fatherhood is not defined only by provision, but by presence, love, and guidance. Despite giving my utmost, I am still unable to see them.”
But if he wants to see them, why aren’t the courts involved? Why isn’t he fighting for access? Why does his “utmost” apparently stop at an Instagram post?
What Comes Next
Sannia has promised justice. She claims to have evidence. The court of public opinion has already delivered its verdict: Imad Wasim is the villain of this story.
A man who:
- Had an affair while married
- Impregnated his wife while involved with another woman
- Abandoned a 7-month-old son
- Left daughters without a father
- Remarried his affair partner in record time
- Asked for privacy while his ex-wife raises their children alone
